User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Verbatim DVD+R
One can never go wrong with Verbatims!

Stay away from any other brand if you want quality!

The seller also provided great service + fast shipping!

5 Stars The best DVDs on the market
Verbatim makes the best DVDs I’ve ever tried. Yes, they’re a little harder to find (you usually can only purchase them online) and they’re a little more expensive, but they’re the best. I’ve tried other DVDs and found either that I get errors when I burn something to them, or one of my DVD players won’t play them. I’ve never had that happen with these discs.

5 Stars Works Perfectly with SATA DVD Burner
Let me start out by saying that I could NEVER burn a Memorex or any brand DL disk when using an IDE DVD burner (tried 3 different brands of burner). Single layer was fine. I’m not sure why, but I’m guessing there was some limitations in the IDE bus on my motherboard and it was corrupting the data when it came to DL disks. My computer would freeze for a moment and then I’d get an error message of some sort. I tried dozens of different burning software and nothing worked until going to a SATA drive. So if your having trouble burning DL disks try upgrading to a SATA DVD burner.

I finally got a basic level LG SATA drive and all my problems were solved. I’ve yet to have a bad burn or any coasters that were caused by a bad disk. These Memorex work fine for me and I’ve used both the 8x and 2.4x versions. I don’t notice any difference between the quality of burn with the 8x vs the 2.4x. All the disks work in my PS3 perfectly. I obviously prefer the 8x due to the time difference it takes to burn a disk but you can get the 2.4x cheaper so I tend to buy them. I also believe that a slower burn will give you a better burned DVD that is likely to have less issues when playing back. But, like I said I haven’t had any issues with the 8x and the PS3.

I don’t think for long term storage of critical data you would want to use a DL disk due to it being more complex in nature and more likely to have issues or fail as it ages. For pure data backups, I use Taiyo Yunden DVD-Rs.

5 Stars Best DL media period.
This is the only DL media I have had consistent success with - out of 50+ burns I’ve had one failure - and I think it was my computer’s fault. These DVD’s play in any DVD player I’ve tried except 1 really old one.

Also, they do burn at 8x, even though they are stamped at 2.4x

5 Stars Good quality dual layer DVDs
They served the purpose, and did not give me any errors during burning.

I about filled up the disk too since I was backing up Mass Effect (I purchased a digital download of the game and it is 8 gigs in size). This was the main reason to buy these disks, and they worked like a charm.

Kingston Data Traveler 2 GB USB Drive DTI 2GB

February 20, 2009 by DSLR Camera Review · Leave a Comment

Kingston Data Traveler 2 GB USB Drive DTI 2GB

Now you can store, carry and transfer files quickly in an affordable, convenient device. The DataTraveler USB Flash drive from Kingston is ideal for storing, carrying and transferring files in a device no bigger than a pocket knife. Its small size makes it handy to carry around, and it’s simple to use, with USB 2.0 compatibility. As easy as click-and-drag, the DataTraveler can hold just about any file such as reports, pictures, spreadsheets or other important documents. It works with virtually any device with a USB port even cross-platform from Macintosh to PC and vice versa.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Kingston quality, no matter what size
I saved up my Pepsi points for this, and have never been so happy with a “loyalty program reward”. I got this to replace my old PNY 512MB drive. I don’t have a tonne of chunky files to carry around, but my portable FireFox profile and Thunderbird archive were filling the whole thing up with no room for much else. I also had a few sectors go bad on the PNY, further limiting just how much storage was available to me.

Knowing that I now have the Kingston name and warranty leaves me feeling much more secure. I don’t personally know anyone who has ever complained about bad sectors on a Kingston USB drive. Moving up to the 2GB drive, I have room for all of the portable applications I need with plenty of room to spare for files. Carrying something the size of a keychain beats the pants off of lugging my laptop bag everywhere. I’ve actually uninstalled the registered versions of Firefox and Thunderbird and now run only the portable versions natively on my desktops and laptop, which makes synch’ing everything via USB drive that much faster. As to file transfer rate, the Kingston drive also seems to complete transfers much faster than my previous drive.

It’s not nearly as big as some of the other options on the market now, but 2GB is plenty enough storage space for me when I’m away from home. I’m sure it’s plenty enough for other folks too. For the available storage — it’s great!

1 Star Non-delivery, No explanation
Ordered 6 each on line for Christmas Stocking Stuffer. Fortunately I used my Credit Card, not Debit. Got billed of course, but 2-3 weeks later I got a credit on CC. No notice or explanation from anyone. Really cool.

5 Stars good item!
this is a great flash drive, that comes with a great price as well as good space..

3 Stars Extremely SLow
This is a good drive for the price. It takes forever to copy or save files to it. Unless you’re in a hurry when it comes to transferring data, spend a little extra and get a faster thumb drive.

5 Stars kingston flash drive
we love this product. My son got it to put songs on his computer and to save information.

Canon CLI 8 4 Color Multipack Ink Tanks

February 20, 2009 by DSLR Camera Review · Leave a Comment

Canon CLI 8 4 Color Multipack Ink Tanks

Canon has poured all the Know How of its extraordinary history of developing innovative office machines into each of its copiers, printers, and networked office systems. The same superiority of design and manufacture goes into all of the Canon-branded consumable imaging supplies and parts for this equipment. Naturally, no one makes better parts and supplies for Canon products than Canon. Using genuine Canon parts and supplies is your best insurance against equipment damage, and possibly voiding your equipment warranty.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Canon Ink Tanks
The Canon branded ink tanks work much better than the cheaper imitations and refills. Happy with this product.

5 Stars Good bang for the buck
I’ve shopped around and found this to be the best way to buy ink for my Canon MX850, which I love by the way !

2 Stars Ink goes too quickly
The ink, and the printer it goes into, works ok. The problem is that the ink gets used up too quickly, so the lifetime cost of using this ink with an associated printer is VERY high. Even printing black text soaks up some of the other colors of ink. Buy a printer that uses this ink only if you have deep pockets.

4 Stars Good images, thirsty printer
Our Canon printer produces great text and graphics with these ink tanks. Just brace yourself for the alarming rate at which you’ll consume these pricey but necessary items.

5 Stars Amazon does it again
Amazon has the best prices on Canon ink cartridges around. Save yourself some time don’t bother looking anywhere else. Great prices and free shipping you can’t beat that combo. I have a Pixma 810 and use Canon paper and Canon ink for really dynamic results.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great SanDisk 2GB SD Card
This SanDisk SD card was exactly what I needed for my digital camera at a very affordable price. Buying online from Amazon.com was an excellent way to save about 50% on the purchase and that includes shipping.

5 Stars Just what I needed
This SD card came in the mail on time and the packaging was in perfect condition. Totally worth it. I went to europe and I was able to hold over 500 8 mega pixel images on it and still had more room.

4 Stars Worth it…
Liked it so far. Worth having it, but a bit costly at the time of its buy.

5 Stars SanDisk 2 gb card
SanDisk 2 GB SD Memory Card ( SDSDB-2048-A11, Retail Package)I purchased this for my new Casio camera!! I already have a 1/gb! The price was alot lower for the 2/gb from Amazon than the 1/gb purchased at target at an earlier date!!! You may as well have more memory if you can, when purchasing a memory card!!! I recommend going to Amazon.com, first for accessories/electronics/etc, before going to a retail store!!!

5 Stars Work as expected
Smooth transaction. Item received on time and I have been using it for a week with no problem.
